The prayer of the saints actually work.

2 Corinthians 9:12, 14-15 (KJV) For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
Thanks are unto God for his unspeakable gift.

We know that when we give to saints.

They respond by giving thanks to God.

And by praying for us.

BE aware that the Bible doesn’t restrict the exact prayers they will make.

As a matter of fact, many have argued that Paul’s prayer after the Philippians gave to him were for spiritual things.

I find it difficult to believe.

Philippians 4:18-19 (KJV) But I have all and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

The context of the discussion was actually material things that had been given to Paul.

And simply Paul prayed that God will supply their NEED.

The word ‘need’ is rendered ‘chreia’ in the Greek, it is used for LACK OR WANT.

It is mostly used for MATERIAL LACK too many times, it needs no confusion.

It’s used for ‘wants.

Philippians 2:25 (KJV) Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

Surely, Paul wasn’t saying these folks ministered to HIS SPIRITUAL GROWTH. NOPE. THEY MINISTERED TO HIS PHYSICAL NEED.

It’s used for ‘Necessity’.

Philippians 4:16 (KJV) For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

Ephesians 4:28 (KJV) Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Again, Jesus used this word Himself.

Mark 2:25 (KJV) And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?

Mark 11:2-3 (KJV) And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
And if any man says unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him, and straightway he will send him hither.

I can go on and on.

Paul didn’t say ‘God will supply His riches in glory to You, he said God will supply your need according to His riches in glory’.

That is, he will supply ACCORDING TO HOW RICH HIS GLORY IS.

And that’s a prayer the Philippian Church received upon giving.

I am convinced Paul prays the same for all who give.

The fact remains that WHEN WE GIVE, WE REAP PRAYERS.

It is very natural.

The device I am working with presently, a fellow gave me when I needed it the most in ministry, I will deceive if I tell you I did not pray, from my heart of hearts for him.

Don’t be deceived, prayer works!!

We reap prayers for the saints and if 1000 people wake up every day thanking God for your gifts, praying for you, my brother, you cannot tell me in good conscience that those prayers have no supernatural effects.
